RailRoad Track-side Asset Validation

  • Omeon has developed the capability to validate / survey visible assets trackside to + or – 7.2ft at an accuracy of 99.6% in a test environment. Post run, the GPS data and video captured are used to determine position of an asset or if an asset is within a tolerable distance of 7.2 feet of the position defined in the Sub-Division file
  • The Application captures the necessary GPS information to build a Sub-Division file and to use as a post creation audit tool to ensure the continued compliance of all assets within a Sub-Division file
  • The capability to validate / survey visible assets trackside.
  • Post run, the GPS data and video captured are used to determine position of Trackside Assets and cross-verify with the Sub-Division file.
  • Embedded application within the Camera synchronizes the GPS and System time to millisecond before the verification is started

  • Omeon’s approach was Edge Video analytics Logic embedded within the Axis Camera to detect Track Obstruction in Railway track when it is struck for the configured duration.
  • Axis Camera is Powerful with more RAM power for Edge Video Analytics. By Integrating Video Analytics within Server we don’t need Additional Server like NVR
  • With 4G Network the “Detected Stationary Object” Information's are sent to ‘Rail Road Monitoring Central Office’ (Cloud).
  • Axis Camera P1375 with Arptec-7 can be used for this Integration.
  • Omeon’s Implementation is using OpenCV within the Axis Camera to detect Stationary Object with a dwell time built.
  • Cost effective self contained solution using Edge Video Analytics within the Camera.
  • “Detected Stationary Object” notifications can sent to Dispatch/Control Office and directly to the Locomotive through wireless.

  • Export the video file using the Omeon Video Client based on Date and time of video recording from the Removable SSD.
  • Decrypt and Encrypt video File.
  • The vDat file downloaded will have both MP4 and GPS data as metafile.
  • Calculate Time Offset.
  • The GPS Time provided in the extracted data will have Offset. The Offset value will be calculated for each time.
  • GPS Data validation based on Distance.
  • Calculate the difference between each GPS data so that there is GPS data every 4 to 5 feet.
  • Application will download the GPS data based on date and time using the REST API.
  • Play GPS Overlay Mp4 Video within an Application.

Video Monitoring of Rail-Road Crossing

Omeon supports following three types of Events within Axis Camera M1135. On receiving the external events, the Omeon software running within Axis camera will record the video in event mode and will Notify the Client Devices like Mobile(ios/Android) and Browser Client about the event as push notification.

The Event Search Tab in the Omeon Client devices will list the triggered external event and also play the Recorded video for the duration.

Types of Event Supported in Axis M1135:

  • Video Motion Detection - Detects valid motion movements.
  • Object Classification - Detects and classifies an object as a Human or Vehicle. Reduces false detection from non-security related objects
  • External Events - When an event from device needs to be triggered to Axis M1135 camera then External Events needs be used.
